We are walking across England on the Coast to Coast Way. Today we walk from Ingleby Cross to Clay Bank Top.
I read Chapter 75 of the Tao te Ching, translated by Steven Mitchell.
“When taxes are too high,
people go hungry.”
“When the government is too intrusive,
people lose their spirit.”
We are in an area known as the Cleveland Hills.
We climb and descend the hills, sometimes walking on the ridge line or the face of the hill.
Close to the high point
“Act for the people’s benefit.
Trust them; leave them alone.”
